Effective Date: 13 October 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you access a website. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR, we are committed to transparent disclosure regarding any data stored in your browser.

2. Categories of Cookies Used

CouncilCredit operates on a minimal-data philosophy. We do not deploy third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or commercial data-broker pixels.

A. Strictly Necessary & Session Cookies (Exempt from Consent)

These cookies are technically required for secure navigation, CSRF security, and maintaining state across the statutory claim terminal and accountant matcher desk.

B. Payment Security & Fraud Prevention (Stripe UK)

When purchasing a Turnkey Requisition Pack (£149), our payment processor Stripe sets fraud detection identifiers (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) strictly necessary to prevent payment fraud and satisfy Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Strong Customer Authentication rules.

3. How to Manage Cookies

You can configure your browser to block or alert you about cookies at any time. However, disabling strictly necessary cookies may impact the functionality of the claim signature canvas and secure checkout sessions.

4. Contact & Inquiries

For questions regarding our cookie practices, please contact our data governance team at audit@councilcredit.co.uk.
